Treatment of bedsores in Jordan

Bedsores are a “silent nightmare” that threatens the lives of bedridden and elderly patients. A wound that begins as a simple redness can develop into a deep cavity reaching the bone within days if left untreated. At our center, we understand the difficulty of transporting patients, so we focus on… home treatment.

💡 How do ulcers occur?

This occurs as a result of constant pressure on the skin (especially on the back, heels, and hips), which cuts off blood supply and kills tissue. Dampness and poor nutrition exacerbate the problem.

1. Stages of bedsores that we treat

Treatment varies depending on the depth of the wound, and we deal with all degrees:

  • First degree (permanent redness): The skin is intact but red and does not return to its normal color when pressure is applied. (Treatment: Relieve pressure immediately).
  • Second degree (surface corrosion): The appearance of blisters or an open wound resembling a scratch. (Requires sterile dressings).
  • Levels three and four (real danger): The wound is very deep; fat, muscle, and bone may be exposed. This is an emergency and requires surgical debridement to remove dead tissue.

2. Treatment protocol (home and clinical)

Because patient comfort is the priority, we offer 90% home ulcer treatment services:

A. Cleaning and removal of dead tissue (Debridement)

Our wound specialists remove black or yellow tissue that is preventing healing, using special medical materials or surgically if necessary.

B. Smart Dressings

We don't use traditional gauze that sticks to the wound. We use foam dressings and alginates that absorb fluids and maintain optimal wound moisture for healing.

c. Off-loading technology

We teach the patient's family how to turn the patient correctly (every two hours) and we recommend the best types of medical air mattresses.

3. When should you contact us?

Don't wait until the ulcer expands. Call immediately if you notice a foul odor coming from the wound, if the patient has a fever, or if the red area is rapidly spreading. Our team is ready to respond immediately.

Is it difficult to transport the patient to the clinic? We come to you.
