I was a visiting consultant at King Abdullah University Hospital with a weekly clinic and a cath lab. With an on call rota once per week for primary coronary intervention for acute myocardial infarction. I have good experience with coronary angiography via the Radial and femoral arteries, complex coronary intervention and implantation of both temporary and permanent pacemakers (single lead and dual chamber). During my appointment at The Heart and Lung Center / New Cross Hospital/ Wolverhampton – England, I had good training in advanced interventional cardiology including coronary angiography via the radial artery, the use of pressure wire and IVUS and complex intervention, planting of Temporary (via Interna jugular vien) and permanent single lead and dual chamber pacemakers. I have participated in the TAVI (Trans-catheter Aortic Valve Implantation) and catheter closure of ASD, PFO and para-valvular leaks. Queen Alia Heart Institute is a specialized cardiac referral center containing 178 beds. It has five consultant interventional cardiologists, one cardiac electrophysiologist, four pediatric cardiologists and six consultant cardiac surgeons. Queen Alia Heart Institute has 5 cath labs. The total load of cardiac catheterizations done is over 12,000 cases per year with over 3,500 cases of interventions, varying from coronary interventions (including primary interventions), balloon valvotomies, closure devices, EPS and ablation, and insertion of pacemakers, ICDs & CRT. Teaching: During my recent work I spent the time training and teaching fellows and staff from allied medical profession. I participate in the regular teaching organized by the Jordan Medical Association for house officers and medical residents setting the exams run by the Jordanian Medical Council. During my work at Queen Alia Heart Institute, I and my colleagues participated in the teaching of the medical students from Jordan University, and the medical residents and house officers. We had a regular weekly lecture, a weekly multidisciplinary team (MDT) meeting with the other members of the institute to discuss the operative lists and any interesting angios. There is a monthly mortality and morbidity (M&M) meeting and a monthly cath and echo conference organized by the Jordan cardiac society. Computing skills: I am skilled in the use of Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Power Point), Medline and the use of the Internet. Career plans: I am constantly trying to improve my skills and knowledge in interventional cardiology, complex coronary intervention, balloon valvotomies, TAVI and Mital valve clip and peripheral intervention.
