My last post in the United Kingdon: Consultant vascular surgeon at Addenbrooke’s Cambridge University Hospital. Following graduation from the faculty of medicine at the University of Jordan in 2001, I pursued surgical training in the United Kingdom. I obtained the Certificate of Completion of Basic Surgical Training (CCBST) and the Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (MRCS Eng.) in 2005. Subsequently, I gained competitive entry into higher surgical training at the London Deanery. During my time as a higher surgical trainee in London, I underwent training in respected recognised regional and international institutions offering high volume and quality training in vascular surgery (St George’s Hospital London, Kings College Hospital, The Royal Free Hospital London). At the same time, I obtained the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS), the Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) and the Fellowship of the European Board of Vascular Surgery (FEBVS). I have also obtained additional advanced endovascular training and advanced vascular access and renal transplantation. Recognising the importance of research and academia in vascular surgery, I dedicated two additional years as research fellow at St George’s University of London. During that time, I was awarded the prestigious Joint Royal College of Surgeons of England & Dunhill Medical Trust Research Fellowship. I was also a warded a higher degree, MD Res. from the University of London. I feel strongly about medical education and have obtained formal training in medical education and mentorship. I have been recently recruited by the University of Jordan to set up a modern vascular service at the Jordan University Hospital. During my short time the University of Jordan, I have established an advanced peripheral endovascular interventional programme. This has resulted in significant improvements in limb salvage rates. I have also established the aortic programme and performed Jordan University Hospital’s first Thoracic Endovascular Aneurysm Repair (TEVAR) for aortic dissection, and first EVAR (Endovascular Aneurysm Repair) for elective and for ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm in addition to a number of endovascular interventions (carotid stenting, deep venous stenting, DVT lysis and endovenous ablation). I also head the peripheral arterial disease service at the National Centre for Diabetes Endocrinology and Genetics and run the vascular service at the Kng Hussein Cancer Center. I am also a recognised regional proctor and consultant for advanced aortic, endovascular and endovenous (APV) interventions in the MENA region. During this role, I have helped multinational medical industry partneres support clincians to introduce endovascular techniques to the region from Malta to Pakistan.   II.
